"Tito" is an Italian name derived from "Titan" or "Titus", the Giant. It means "Little Giant". Tito has proven himself to be a little giant in everything he undertakes. Equally at home in the breed ring, the obedience ring, hunting in the field, running an agility course, vaulting off the end of a dock, visiting a nursing home, or just plain chilling out on the floor, he is truly a versatile dog and a credit to the breed.
We are very proud to announce that on August 29th, 2010, Tito earned the highly respected "Versatility Excellent Certificate" from the Golden Retriever Club of America for his accomplishments in the areas of Conformation, Obedience, and Field work. In the words of the GRCA, "The Golden Retriever Club of America holds in highest esteem the versatility of those Golden Retrievers who reflect both the conformation and working attributes of the breed. The Versatility Certificate (VC) and Versatility Excellent Certificate (VCX) are awarded to those Golden Retrievers who exemplify that degree of versatility through a combination of accomplishments in each of the following areas : Conformation, Field and Performance."
In November, 2010, at only 3 years of age, Tito became only the 25th Golden Retriever to be both a breed Champion and a UDX dog.
In just a few months of very limited showing, Tito became an AKC Champion. He finished his championship with an incredible 3 major wins, including two 4-point majors. In one of his 4-point majors he also was judged as "Best of Winners" at a golden retriever specialty, winning over more than 70 other golden retrievers.
In September of 2009, at the very young age of just 30 months, Tito earned his fifth obedience title, the impressive AKC Utility Dog (UD) title. On November 20th, 2010 he completed his UDX title, at only 3 1/2 years old to become only the 25th Golden Retriever in 20 years to be both a CH and UDX.
In the summer of 2010, Tito was taken for an evaluation of hunt and field instincts and natural abilities, and even the professional trainer was astounded at Tito's instinct, drive, and ability. Tito passed four consecutive hunt tests to earn his junior hunter title, in September 2010, after just a few weeks of training. In May of 2012, Tito passed 4 out of 5 tests to earn his senior hunter title.
Tito excels in everything he does, but one of his personal favorites is dock diving. Fearless on land and loving the water, he flys off the end of the dock with all his heart every time.
In just 15 weekends Tito earned his NXP, NJP, OXP, OJP, AXP, AJP, and MJP titles. This dog can do it all!
Tito passed all his health clearances, and they are recorded with OFA. Click here for health information and pedigree information
